Maternity Unit Manager for Southern Suburbs #3938

Elevate your nursing career and become a new Unit Manager for this Maternity Unit of this central located private hospital in Southern Suburbs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effective role model leadership according to the standards of the hospital
• Staff planning- staffing requirements for next 24 hours daily including the management of sessional staff
• Delegate staff for the optimum functioning of the unit
• HR management of staff according to the Basic Conditions of Employment, the Hospital Conditions of Employ and the Disciplinary Code
• Evaluation, intervention and resolution of patient complaints and queries
• Immediate reporting on all incidents inclusive of root cause analysis, intervention and outcome
• Identify and minimise medico legal risks
• Evaluate clinical expertise and knowledge of staff
• Implement and monitor induction of employees to unit
• Cost effective management of the unit financial budget including stock management

Requirements:

• Matric or Equivalent
• Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse
• Post basic Diploma in Midwifery
• Minimum of 2 – 3 years Management experience Excellent Leadership qualities and mentoring skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
• The skill to manage nursing standards and in-service training
• Accurate record keeping and the management of stock
• Excellent MS Office computer skills, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, KRONOS (Advantageous), etc
