Registered Nurse

Our hospital in Pretoria is looking for 2 x Infection Prevention and Control Co-ordinators to be responsible for the overall Infection Control of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate all negative incidents / adverse events and ensure appropriate capturing on IMS
• Liaise with Public Liability with regard to all incidents of potential infection risk to the business
• Timeous resolution of complaints and implementation of IPP Programmes
• Identify areas of non-compliance through clinical audits and CSA
• Co-ordinate the election and appointment of IPP committee which should include doctors, pathologists, pharmacists and representatives of all the departments in the hospital
• Co-ordinate the election and appointment of IPP Link Nurses in all Units / Departments and keep letters of appointment on file of security and audit purpose

Benefits:

• Salary on offer for this position is up to R32k total gross per month

Applicants for this position must:

• A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree)
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
• 12 months Certificate / Diploma in IPC
• 7 years or more experience as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 2 years experience working as an Infection Control Coordinator in a hospital
• Good knowledge of and passion for Infection Prevention
