Oncology Unit Managers play a vital role in the recovery and/or treatment of patients with cancer. They manage the team of nurses that help administer the treatments and medicines needed to help those struggling through physically and emotionally draining times.

More so than other Unit Manager or RN roles, a successful candidate must be empathic and provide emotional support to their patients, patient’s families, and their teams of RNs and ENs. Not an easy role – resilience is key – but also immensely satisfying as individuals that work in these units have the ability to make a lasting impact on a patient’s health and recovery. With the doctor’s help, they provide information to their patients on their condition and help manage their often painful symptoms and side effects.
