Neonatal nurses usually work in maternity units at hospitals caring for new born infants. They are caring individuals that have a way with babies and enjoy contributing to the post childbirth process. They may be midwives by training and must be registered with SANC.

Not to be confused with NICU Nurses , they are not usually trained to work with pre-mature or critically ill newborns. However, working within a maternity unit is a great position to start with if your aim is to complete a post-basic in Advanced Midwifery and / or Neonatal Nursing Science and move up to become a Neonatology Trained Sister.

Regardless of whether you are a Neonatal Nurse, Neonatology Trained Sister or working at Management level , talk to us if you wish to elevate your career or simply seek a change of environment. At Mednurse we place all of our candidates in permanent posts that inspire and challenge them – careers rather than just jobs.

We work with Maternity Units at private facilities across the country – from Cape Town to Pretoria. Send us your CV to get started!
